ENCORE FELLOWSHIP
The Encore Fellowship is a two-year coaching-informed and experienced-based fellowship that recruits early career educators (typically 2-4 years of experience) and asks them to commit themselves to teach in Detroit. Through Encore, fellows engage in adaptive coaching, expert-led high quality professional development on culturally responsive pedagogy and practice, instructional best practices for rigor and academic excellence, diversity, equity and inclusion, community building, and teacher leadership. Fellows will leave the program with the mindsets and skills necessary to lead transformational classrooms.
To be eligible for consideration for the Encore Fellowship, candidates must have:
at least two years of experience as a teacher of record
active teacher certification
growth mindset and openness to ongoing feedback
capacity to commit to all fellowship experiences, including quarterly weekend workshops and evening events, as well as school-based coaching activities
